Black & Blue Decoden Phone Case by Sadira Designs

Posted by | 0 comments

Happy Halloween!!  Who can believe it is already Halloween 2014.  When I sent Sadira’s design team kit, she did not seem like the typical Halloween eyeball, Frankenstein, blood and guts type of designer.  I wanted to keep this project dark and monochromatic without screaming Halloween.  She managed to create a beautiful case that does just that.  The perfect case for fall or winter or for that gothic princess all year round.  It really turned out beautiful and is my favorite case she has created so far.

You can find Sadira’s links below as well as links to the products used for the case.

Spooky Halloween Necklaces by Mini Goddess Treasures

Posted by | 0 comments

Keeping with the Halloween theme, we have two necklaces made by Ash from Mini Goddess Treasures.  She created two necklaces for this design team project.  I love them both especially the color combinations chosen for each necklace, ones a bit more traditional with orange and black and the other more modern with the purple and green focus.  Let’s see what she has to say about creating the necklaces…

Time for Halloween! It’s the best time of the year. This project was one of my favorites so far – skulls and bows and kitty cats! You really can’t get much better than that. The necklace with the bow pendant kind of spoke its own music as I designed it, and it came out looking very much like Maleficent. The pendant and the skulls came from Rockin’ Resin, and the rest came from stash. The kitty necklace is oh-so-cute and perfect for Halloween! Everything but the spacers, the black bubblegum beads and the two purples (bubblegum and pearls) came from Rockin’ Resin.

Check out the finished necklaces below as well as links to find her online and to the products used.

Halloween Phone Case by Craft Girl Studios

Halloween is my absolute favorite time of the year and I just had to create a spookylicious phone case! This one features Hello Kitty Vampire and lots of spooky bats and sweet candy! It was my very first time experimenting with a resin phone case and I love it! The final product is so shiny! To add some more deco bling I added some orange AB jelly gems.

The resin and stickers all came from my stash but the case and gems are from Rockin Resin.

Design Team Challenge by Mini Goddess Treasures

Posted by | 0 comments

The last seconds challenge piece comes from Ash with Mini Goddess Treasures.  Her seconds came mostly from the 30mm jumbo pearls and jumbo rose beads bins.  I could not wait to see what she would do with them as they are super chunky beads.

Ash here. For this project, I got to work with some incredibly huge pearls! I have to say, I was really excited when I opened the box for my second project because I’ve never got to use jumbo pearls before. It took a little thought to see how I could do this necklace, but I’m a huge fan of fuchsia and mint together, so I chose those jumbo pearl beads and the pink flower in the package, and added in a darker green flower, two 20mm fuchsia, two 20mm mint, large rhinestone spacers, small rhinestone beads, and two sets of lighter fuchsia and darker mint glass pearls from my collection. This is the result! I still have cameos and other large pearl beads left over and can’t wait to use them!

Check out some of her process photos and completed project pictures below.  You can also find her links and product used below also.

The next project in the Seconds Challenge comes from Monika with Craft Girl Studios.  She made a super sweet, embellished, Decoden business card holder.  For the whipped cream covering, she used white Mod Podge Collage Clay that we carry in the store along with some of our cabochons and some from her stash.  Monika describes the case as perfect for a super girly, fashionable woman who knows how to market her business. She’s got her head in the game!  Check out the pictures below.

Design Team Challenge – Sadira Designs

Posted by | 0 comments

For the next set of design team projects, the three designers were given a seconds challenge.  For every shipment I get, a portion always ends up heading to the seconds bin.  If you are unaware of what seconds are, they are pieces that may have an issue like a painting problem, black speck, irregular surface, etc.  They are still pieces that are completely useful and a great way to get discount cabochons.  I sell them by the ounce or pound.  The designers were sent a selection of cabochons or beads directly out of the seconds bin and the only parameter given was to make something with them.  It could have been anything from a phone case, a scrapbooking project, or even used to embellish a frame or some other nic nac.

The first challenge project comes from Sadira from SadiraDesigns.com.  Sadira says “My inspiration for this project was to create “BFF” phone cases. Two similar yet different phone cases that compliment each other! One is sweet while the other more edgy! Just like best friends tend to be. I had so much fun with this one! ALL supplies used on both cases were provided by www.RockinResin.com!”

You can find links to Sadira’s store and Facebook  along with links to the products used in this phone case below.  I love the way these two best friend cases turned out.  Check out the pictures below.
